Hemut Command and QuickBooks OnlineHemut Command and QuickBooks Online
Hemut Command is a transportation management system for small and mid-size trucking carriers. When a load is delivered, Command builds the invoice. Connect QuickBooks Online and Command sends those invoices to QuickBooks, records customer payments against them, and applies credit memos and short pays.
Driver settlements go to QuickBooks as bills, with each driver matched to a vendor or created as one, and payments are recorded against them. Vendor bills coded in Command post the same way. Command is available in the United States.
What Command sends to QuickBooks
- Invoices for delivered loads.
- Customer payments, and credit memos with the payments that apply them.
- Driver settlements as bills, with each driver matched to a vendor or created as one, and the payments recorded against those bills.
- Vendor bills coded in Command (creating the vendor if it is not already in QuickBooks), and vendor credits.
QuickBooks cannot void a bill or a credit memo, so when you void one in Command it is deleted in QuickBooks.
What Command reads from QuickBooks
- The customers you choose to import. An import never overwrites a customer already in Command.
- Your vendor list, so drivers and payees can be matched to vendors you already have.
- Your chart of accounts, items, classes and locations, so you can match Command's charge types to your income accounts, items and classes before anything is sent.
- A list of your customers and invoices, and your company preferences, for the setup check described below.
- Your Profit and Loss report, read live when you open it.
The flow is mostly one way: accounting entries go from Command to QuickBooks. Reads are for setup, matching and reporting.
When it syncs
Invoices, payments and credit memos are not written to your books until an administrator reviews a check of your setup and switches invoice syncing on. Connecting alone does not start them, and the switch is tied to the QuickBooks company you connected, so connecting a different company does not inherit it. Driver settlements and vendor bills are sent as soon as QuickBooks is connected, when they are approved or paid. Driver settlements are not sent if your organization turns Settlements GL off.
After that, entries are sent when an invoice is released, a payment is recorded, a vendor bill or settlement is approved or paid, or an entry is voided. Entries that fail are retried automatically.
How to connect
- Sign in to Command as a user who is allowed to manage the QuickBooks connection, open Settings, then Integrations, and choose Connect on the QuickBooks Online row.
- You are sent to Intuit to sign in and approve access to your accounting data.
- Back in Command, match your accounts, items and customers, and import any customers you want.
- Review the setup check, then switch invoice syncing on.
Command asks Intuit for one permission only: access to your QuickBooks accounting data. It does not request payments access or sign-in with Intuit.
How to disconnect
In Command, open Accounting settings, then Integrations, switch off Connected to QuickBooks and confirm. You can also disconnect Hemut Command from inside QuickBooks Online.
Disconnecting from Command asks Intuit to revoke Command's access and clears the stored access tokens. Your account and customer matches are kept so a reconnect does not start from scratch. Invoices, payments and settlements stay in Command, and entries already in QuickBooks stay there. More on the disconnect page.
How your QuickBooks data is handled
Command's access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. Command reads and writes your QuickBooks data through Intuit's own programming interfaces, to run the integration and the Command features that display it, including the Hemi assistant. Our privacy policy has the full detail, including what we keep after you disconnect.
Price
Command starts at $99 a month (US dollars) with 3 trucks included, then a per-truck price that falls as the fleet grows. QuickBooks syncing is included in every plan. Self-serve accounts start with a free trial of 30 days or 5 loads per truck, whichever comes first, with no card to start. Full details are on the pricing page.
