Geotab TMS integration with Hemut CommandGeotab TMS integration with Hemut Command
A Geotab TMS integration matters most when the person planning loads is not the person watching the telematics screen. Built for asset-based trucking carriers, Hemut Command is a TMS that reads truck position from Geotab and shows it as ETAs and arrival times on the loads your dispatchers work.
Geotab describes itself as a commercial telematics provider (geotab.com, read November 3, 2026). Command reads location from the trucks you already track there.
Where Geotab data shows up in Command
Geotab positions feed Command's tracking screen. Each truck sits on the map beside its load, and the load shows an ETA for the next stop and the time the truck arrived. Dispatch, the customer update and the arrival record all work from that same position.
Setting up the Geotab TMS integration
- Have an admin open Integrations under Settings in Command.
- In ELD and telematics, press Add ELD and select Geotab when the link flow asks for your ELD.
- Finish the flow and come back to Command, where the Geotab row starts as Starting up.
- Give it a few minutes for vehicles and drivers to arrive, then check that the row reads Connected.
When a Geotab feed goes quiet
A row's status comes from whether data is actually arriving, not from when someone last pressed a button. A Geotab row that stops receiving data turns to Not reporting and says when data last came in. Command suggests reconnecting in that case, because the authorization at the ELD may have lapsed. If nothing ever arrived after linking, it asks you to contact Hemut instead.
Sync now is open to every user and pulls the latest Geotab data on demand.
Mixed fleets, and removing Geotab
Geotab can be one of several ELDs on the account, with each linked ELD in its own row under its vendor's name. Removing one is an admin action. The confirmation counts the tractors, trailers and drivers that will lose live position, hours of service and ELD ids, and tracking stops pulling within a few minutes. Unit numbers and driver records remain, ready for a later Reconnect.
Cost of tracking Geotab trucks
Command comes with live tracking from $99 a month, 3 trucks included. Test it against your Geotab trucks in a 30 day trial with no card required. All rates are on the pricing page.
