Samsara TMS integration with Hemut CommandSamsara TMS integration with Hemut Command
A Samsara TMS integration answers the question a dispatcher asks all day: where is the truck on this load right now? Hemut Command is a TMS built for asset-based trucking carriers. It reads truck position from Samsara and uses it to show ETAs and arrival times on the loads you dispatch.
Samsara calls itself "The Connected Operations Platform" (samsara.com, read November 3, 2026). This page covers what Command does with Samsara location data and how an admin links it.
What the Samsara TMS integration puts on a load
Command's tracking screen takes the latest location of each Samsara truck and places it against the load that truck is running. The load then carries an ETA for the next stop, and the arrival time once the truck gets there, so a broker asking for an update gets an answer from the load record.
Linking Samsara from Command's settings
- An admin opens Settings, then Integrations, and scrolls to the ELD and telematics list.
- Add ELD opens a link flow. Pick Samsara there and follow its prompts.
- Back in Command, the new Samsara row says Starting up. Trucks and drivers should appear within a few minutes.
Running Samsara next to another ELD
Part of a fleet sometimes runs a different device, for example trucks that arrived with an acquisition. Command lets a carrier link more than one ELD. Each connection is its own row, labelled with its real vendor, so Samsara reads as Samsara beside whatever else you run.
Reading a Samsara row
- Connected, with how long ago data last came in and how many tractors, trailers and drivers this connection supplies.
- Not reporting, once new data stops. If data flowed and then stopped, Command suggests reconnecting, since the authorization at the ELD may have lapsed.
- Sync now, which anyone on the account can press to pull the latest data.
Disconnecting Samsara
Only an admin can disconnect. Before it goes through, Command shows how many tractors, trailers and drivers would lose their live position, hours of service and ELD ids from Samsara, and warns that tracking stops pulling from it within a few minutes. Unit numbers and driver records stay, and the same row offers Reconnect later.
What Samsara tracking costs in Command
Live tracking is part of Command, which starts at $99 a month with 3 trucks included. You can try it on your own Samsara trucks for 30 days, no card needed. Every rate is on the pricing page.
